I'm currently renovating my kitchen and I'm wondering about the area where the old backsplash used to be. Since I'm installing a one-piece backsplash on each side, do I need to replace the drywall, or will patching it to make the surface flat be sufficient? If the new backsplash is rigid, you could just install it directly over the existing wall. Patching might not even be necessary if everything is going to be covered. Just make sure that there won't be any gaps or uneven areas that could affect the installation later on.
That makes sense! I’m guessing it should be fine since it’s coming from a marble slab. We're considering going with Cambria marble.
