I'm finally seeing some fruit on my plants, but there's a big population of squirrels around that I'm worried will come and eat everything up. What strategies do you all use to keep them at bay?

I've had luck using a pellet gun. I don't aim to hurt them, just to scare them off. It usually takes about a month for the new squirrels to get the message and stay away. Plus, it's a good way to practice my shooting skills!
Ever tried using coyote pee? It's a pretty intense repellent! Just make sure you don't get it on yourself, it's strong stuff!
I take a different approach; I actually feed the birds and squirrels at the same time. I set out a small dish of water for them, so it keeps them entertained and away from my plants!
I use a solar fence charger with wire that's about 10 inches off the ground. It works great not just for squirrels but also for raccoons and stray dogs and cats.
I let my cats patrol the garden! They keep squirrels and other animals away, but I guess it can be a bit pricey to have them around as deterrents.
That sounds like a solid plan! Just make sure you're being safe and considerate while doing it.
