I'm looking to grow zucchini vertically this year since my plants got huge last summer and took up too much room. What's the best way to do this? When should I start tying the plants to a pole, and how often should I prune them? Any tips would be appreciated!

You should start with a sturdy pole that you can drive deep into the ground. Tie the main stem of your zucchini to it as it grows. Pruning isn't a must unless your variety branches out a lot; you might want to trim excess stems while allowing one or two to grow taller.
Using a tomato cage is great! Just let the zucchini grab onto it, but you might need some support for the fruit as it gets heavy. If you're not experienced with zucchinis, no worries! Cucumber methods can work too, as that's my usual veggie, but I have heard zucchini can be just as fun to grow!
