Help! My Planer’s Crank Wheel Keeps Moving During Cuts

I recently bought a new DW735 planer and ran into a couple of frustrating issues while using it. First, the height adjustment crank wheel keeps moving while I'm making cuts, which causes it to lose depth. I've tightened the nut on the crank as much as I can, but it doesn't seem to help. Has anyone experienced this before or have any suggestions for a fix? Secondly, my test piece tends to move around unpredictably during cuts; it slows down and twists, which might be related to the crank wheel issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

How heavy of a cut are you trying to make? And have you taken the time to level and wax the bed and the infeed/outfeed tables, if you have them? If you don’t have those tables, how long is your piece? It could be that the setup needs a bit of adjustment to stabilize your feed.

I'm just doing super light cuts, like 1/64" at a time, and I did wax the bed. No infeed/outfeed tables for me, and my piece is about 35 inches long.
