Hey everyone! I'm hoping to hang a hammock chair on the ceiling of my condo balcony, but it's made of concrete (flexicore, I think). I've never drilled into concrete or used any type of concrete anchors before, so I'm a bit lost on the best way to get started. I really want to ensure it's strong and safe for regular use. Any tips or advice would be super helpful—thanks in advance!

Honestly, if you're not fully confident about drilling into your ceiling, maybe consider a hammock stand instead? It would save you the hassle and ensure you don’t inadvertently create a problem! But if you insist, an epoxy anchoring system is a solid choice, especially for something that involves weight overhead. You can find plenty of tutorials on YouTube showing you exactly how to drill and what tools you need. Just be careful!
Hanging something from a concrete ceiling can be tricky! First off, you need to make sure that the concrete isn’t pre or post-tensioned, as drilling into that could lead to major issues. If you’re certain about the type of concrete, use a hammer drill and a carbide bit to get through it. I’d recommend using drop-in anchors for this project, but sleeve anchors could be a backup option. Just a heads up, if this is in a multi-family building, it’s wise to check your plan with maintenance first for safety!
