Hey everyone! I have a pretty big garage measuring 1,400 square feet, and I'm looking to figure out a way to manage the temperature there. I live in Albuquerque, so the summers are manageable with the dry heat, but winters can get kind of chilly, hovering around freezing but not quite. I don't need it to be cozy—just enough to take the edge off during those cold days. I'm considering a mini split heat pump, but I'm not sure if that's my best bet or what size I should be looking at. Any thoughts?

A mini split is a popular pick for garages like yours. While some folks use 240V electric heaters, they can really jack up your electric bill. Personally, I bought a $100 infrared heater. It’s no frills but keeps my workspace warm when I’m out there.
Just a heads up—some mini splits have a minimum heating temperature. For example, my Mitsubishi model only goes down to 60F in heating mode. If you're aiming for around 50F, you might have to play with a separate thermostat or just accept it being a little warmer than you want.
