New to Houseplants: What Should I Start With?

Hey everyone! I'm a newbie to the wonderful world of houseplants and I'm looking for some beginner-friendly recommendations. What plants do you think I should start with? I'm also curious about the best soil types, pot materials, and any plant food tips you might have. I live in the UK where sunlight can be scarce, especially during the colder months, so any advice for those conditions would be super helpful. Thanks a lot!

It's great to hear you're diving into houseplants! I suggest trying to mix your own soil for better results; I usually use a combo of perlite, orchid bark, and cactus soil. Investing in a good grow light can be a game-changer since many plants enjoy humidity and might need that extra help during darker months. Remember to find out which plants thrive in your specific conditions!

Thanks for the tips! As a beginner, I’m unsure about which soil brands to trust. Do you have any recommendations?
