Hey folks! I'm in Edinburgh and I've got some perennials that are thriving in my unheated 'conservatory.' I'm really eager to get them planted outside but I know we're not quite at our last frost date yet. I've started the process of hardening them off over the past couple of days. The weather's been pretty mild, and it doesn't look like any frost is coming up in the forecast. If I plant them out this weekend, am I risking a surprise snowstorm?

If those perennials are hardy, you should be alright! Just make sure to harden them off for about a week before planting. Honestly, I'd be more concerned about slugs invading than the actual weather, depending on what kind of plants you're putting out.
I'd suggest acclimating them until the end of this month. Once we hit mid to late May, they should be fine in their permanent spot. You can always cover them with frost fleece to keep them warmer and protect them just in case the weather decides to turn.
Yeah, go ahead with the planting after a good hardening! Just keep an eye on the weather. Slugs can be a real pain, though, especially when those plants are little.
