What to Do Before Reinstalling a Kitchen Cabinet?

Asked By CuriousCarpenter92 On

Hey everyone! I had to take out my kitchen cabinet due to a slow leak, and I've made sure all the moisture is gone from the wood. I'm getting ready to reinstall it and wanted to ask if there are any precautions or preparations I should make before doing so. I'm planning to have the outlet updated to code and will apply Red Guard for moisture protection, but I feel like there might be more I can do. I'm also going to buy a prefab cabinet from Lowe's that fits my space. Any advice?

You should definitely consider using a waterproof mat or liner under the cabinet. I found this one on Amazon that really helps protect the area from any potential leaks in the future. It has saved me from some serious water damage more than once!

That's a great suggestion! I just added it to my cart. I'll need to cut a hole for the plumbing, but I'll figure out how to seal that properly.
