Hey everyone! I'm in the middle of switching out my bathroom vanity and I need to mount a metal medicine cabinet. The studs in my wall are spaced about 15 inches apart, but to center the mirror above the vanity, I need to mount the cabinet at 7 inches from the floor. The cabinet is 30 inches long, 26 inches tall, and 4 1/2 inches deep with inside mounts that start 2 inches in. This means I'm left with a bit of a challenge—can I run a 1x4 piece of wood from stud to stud to help support the cabinet? I want to ensure it's sturdy enough. I'm willing to create a full square frame if necessary to make it look nice. Thanks for your help!

If you plan to run a 1x4 on top of the drywall to screw into the studs, that should definitely hold it up. Just keep in mind it might create a bit of a gap between the wall and the cabinet. But honestly, toggle bolts are a great choice too—they can hold up to 80 pounds each, so you should be more than covered for your medicine cabinet!
You could use four metal drywall anchors; the screw-in type should work just fine for your cabinet. They’re pretty reliable! Just make sure to follow the weight specifications.
Will those work with my drywall thickness of 3/8 inch?
Just to share, if you need a visual reference when doing this, posting a pic on Imgur could help get more tailored advice! Good luck with it!
I figured it out! Thanks for the suggestions!

Are toggle bolts still okay for 3/8-inch drywall?
