Do I Need to Harden Off My Indoor Plants Before Moving Them to the Greenhouse?

I just built a greenhouse and started some seeds indoors back in mid-March. I'm wondering if I need to harden them off before moving them into the greenhouse, or can I just transfer them directly?

Don’t skip the hardening off process! Even though you're moving them from one indoor setting to another, the difference in humidity and temperature can stress your plants. Think of it like transitioning them to a new environment. I’d suggest giving them a few hours in the greenhouse before bringing them back inside, just to help them adjust gradually.

Absolutely, you should definitely harden them off! Even if your greenhouse is climate-controlled, plants need to adjust to the different light and temperature levels. Start by placing them in a shaded area outside for a few days, then gradually introduce them to some direct sunlight. This way, you won't cook your plants when moving them from indoors to the greenhouse.

Yeah, I get where you're coming from. I just installed electricity in my greenhouse too, and it's heating up quickly. It’s best to harden them off first. I plan on starting flowers and squash in it this weekend, but I might wait on tomatoes and peppers since I think I missed the ideal timing for them this year. It’s all about getting your plants acclimated!
