Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on planting eucalyptus. I love the look of eucalyptus leaves and was thinking of getting a dwarf Eucalyptus gunnii since I need something evergreen. However, my in-laws warned me against it, saying that they turn into a nightmare, growing out of control and draining water from other plants. I'm curious if anyone else has had similar experiences. Do you think a dwarf variety would be less problematic?

I've got a eucalyptus tree (not dwarf), and it's been growing for about 5-10 years now. It really does take over if you don't keep up with pruning—it's taller than my house! But with regular maintenance, it can be manageable. Just be ready to trim it back regularly if you plant one.
