I've recently moved into a new house and I want to plant wildflowers in about half of my yard. However, I've come across a frustrating issue. I planted wildflower seeds in a planter on my front patio, but after months of waiting, I only got grass. I tried again with two different brands, but this time I ended up with clovers and more grass. Can anyone suggest a reliable source for actual wildflower seeds instead of grass? For reference, my first seeds came from Walmart, which I now realize was a mistake, and the second batch was from two different heirloom seed websites.

What kind of wildflower seeds did you use, and when did you plant them? Some native plants require cold stratification to germinate properly, so timing and seed type can make a big difference.
I had great success with seeds from American Meadows. Their blends are fantastic, and their customer service is really helpful if you have questions about planting or issues you encounter.

Maybe this is a silly question, but are you mowing the area with the wildflowers on the same schedule as the grass area? If you're cutting both at the same time, it might affect the wildflower growth. Just a thought!
I actually cleared that area completely; it’s just mud right now since I pulled out all the weeds and roots.
I tried two types from Burpee: the Hummingbird Mix and a Perennial Wildflower mix, but the last ones I got were from David's Garden Seeds.
