Hey folks! I'm reaching out for some help as I'm trying to build a 555 timer circuit that runs off 9V. My goal is to have it produce a variable frequency anywhere from 1Hz to 60Hz, and also adjust the duty cycle over that same range. The output is meant to drive a 2N2222 transistor, which will switch power to another oscillator I've already built using a 4093 chip.
I'm aiming to use 10kΩ or 100kΩ potentiometers to control both the frequency and duty cycle since I have those on hand. I've got plenty of ceramic and electrolytic capacitors, resistors, and extra 555 chips (though I've, unfortunately, blown a few in my attempts!).
If anyone can share a circuit diagram or guide me to a useful tool for calculating component values based on frequency and duty cycle, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

You could also consider using two 555 timers for this! One can control the frequency and the other can manage the pulse width. If you set one in astable mode and the other in monostable, you can achieve full control over the duty cycle, but you might need an oscilloscope for fine-tuning. Just remember, the RC constant is key, and a lot of potentiometer values should work too!
