I'm planning to replace six old basement windows (dimensions: 23 1/4" x 33") myself. While I'm hoping to do it on my own, I'm open to hiring someone if it gets too tricky. I've mostly found options like Lowe's and Home Depot, but they seem limited as most manufacturers prefer to sell with installation. I'm located in the eastern USA and would appreciate any recommendations on where to find replacement windows. Thanks in advance for your input, whether you're a pro or just have a good guess!

If you're looking for custom sizes, definitely check out local lumberyards. They usually have window suppliers they order from, and you can get a proper quote directly at their counters.
I recently visited a Sierra Pacific dealer nearby. They don't push installation and cater more to DIY folks. I found their windows to be of better quality compared to the big box stores, and their prices weren't bad either. Plus, they're willing to work with you on custom orders!
Besides Lowe's and Home Depot, consider checking with local lumberyards. They can often get you quotes on custom windows right away. Just make sure you know what type of window you want, like vinyl or wood. Some online options exist, but they're usually overpriced. You might also find regional manufacturers who sell directly, and some don’t require installers.

That's awesome! I've heard good things about Sierra Pacific. Definitely seems worth checking out for better quality.
