Hey everyone, I need some advice on tackling a serious cat odor issue in my mom's house after she passed away. She had a lot of cats, and unfortunately, one didn't use the litter box and another even peed on the walls. A contractor suggested that installing laminate flooring might be a better solution than sanding the existing floors, which he believes are too soaked with odor to be salvaged. However, I don't have the budget for a full fix right now, so I'm looking for a temporary solution. Is it true that laminate is the way to go? And can anyone recommend a sealant or odor-repelling primer that I could use on the floors and walls to help manage the smell for about a year or so? Thanks for your help!

I suggest trying an enzyme-based odor eliminator spray. It'll probably need a few applications since the situation sounds pretty severe. I came across one called 'Cat Attack' on Amazon that got good reviews for cat odors!
