I'm considering a condo that has a small bedroom on the top floor, featuring a sloped ceiling. There's also a crawl space under this sloped area that could be opened up to create a larger room. The current owners had plans to raise the roof to accommodate this. I know that raising the roof for a whole house can cost between $50,000 and $150,000, but I'd like to get a better idea of what I'd be looking at for just this one room. My dad had a similar project completed for around $12,000. His room was a bit bigger, about 20' x 12'. Just keep in mind that with a condo, you'll likely need to get permission from the HOA and permits from your local government, which can add to the complexity.
