Hey everyone! I'm tackling a DIY project on my concrete slab porch. There's a stubborn metal pipe that's stuck in the concrete, and I'd love to get it out so I can patch the holes and make everything look smooth again. I've never done this before, so I'm looking for advice. I have a DeWalt drill with a hammer drill setting, some smaller masonry bits, and an angle grinder equipped with a diamond cup attachment. I'm open to buying new tools if necessary, but I'd prefer to work with what I have. Any tips on how I can extract this pipe without damaging the slab too much? Thanks in advance for your help!

Based on one of your pictures, it looks like you might have access to the bottom of the pipe. If that's the case, I would suggest using the angle grinder to carefully grind the pipe down to just below the surface of the concrete; that way, it's out of sight but still in place. Alternatively, if you want to completely remove it, try chiseling around the pipe until you can pull it out. After that, you can set up a form and refill the area with new concrete. Just keep in mind that bonding the old and new concrete might be a bit tricky, so be prepared for that!
That's solid advice! If you go the route of removing it, maybe consider using a bonding agent for the new concrete to help it adhere better.
