I'm worried about my batteries because I leave them in a shop without climate control, where it gets super hot in the summer (up to 120°F) and freezing cold in the winter (down to -10°F). Is this bad for them?

Leaving your batteries in extreme temperatures is generally not ideal. Sure, they might not break down immediately, but over time, those high and low temps can lead to wear and injury. It’s better to keep them somewhere cooler if you can. Better safe than sorry!
You're definitely pushing it a bit with those temperature extremes! Personally, I know some folks who just bring their batteries inside during the hotter days, and it seems to do the trick. It might make a difference for their lifespan, too.
Honestly, I’ve stored mine in an unconditioned garage that shoots up to 110°F in summer and drops to 20°F in winter, and they’ve held up fine for years. I think as long as the temperatures don’t swing wildly every other day, they'll probably be okay.
