I'm really frustrated with my current Forstner bits from Ryobi. They don't perform well at all, and I rarely use them, but I can't stand how dull they are. I'm looking for some solid recommendations for a good brand that won't cost an arm and a leg. A set with standard sizes would be ideal!

It's important to keep your bits clean and free of resin buildup. Also, if you can, touch up the cutting edges with a diamond paddle. Try using lower RPMs and a slower feed rate to prevent overheating. Fast drilling can really wear them out!
Exactly! Just like router bits, these can be sharpened easily.

Totally get that. I keep my drill press speed low, it really helps with heat.
