Hey everyone! So, my bathroom sink is cracked and I'm planning on replacing it. The issue is, the new sink I found is about an inch wider than the old one, measuring 18.8 inches compared to the previous rectangular sink's 21 by 17.75 inches. I'm trying to figure out if this wider sink will fit properly. Should I be measuring the inner dimensions to compare them? I just want to make sure it works before I get my plumber scheduled. Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'm no expert, but I think the main issue might be the underside lip of the sink. It could lead to difficulties with cleaning, and might invite mold, mildew, or even bugs down the line. If you can, check online for unique sizes—they might just have what you need!
Just a heads-up, sinks are usually listed by their external dimensions, not just the bowl size. You might find two sinks that have the same bowl but different sizes for the lip, so definitely check the overall sizes. This is something a lot of companies don’t clarify anymore.
