Why are my sun-loving houseplants getting burned on a south-facing windowsill?

I've got several houseplants that thrive in full sun, like jade plants and other succulents, but they seem to be getting burned on my south-facing windowsill. It's getting a lot of direct sunlight throughout the day, and even a pathos has suffered while only my cactus is fine. I thought full sun meant they could handle this much light. I live in Canada, so it's not overly hot. What am I doing wrong here?

Did you acclimate your plants to the new sunlight? If they were used to lower light conditions, jumping straight into full sun might overwhelm them. Gradually introducing them to brighter conditions can help reduce stress and prevent burning.

I just bought them a few days ago. Any tips on acclimating them?
