I've recently moved into a new house where the previous owners planted Bermuda grass, which has taken over my garden beds. I'm really focused on maintaining a healthy ecosystem for growing food, so I'm trying to avoid harsh chemicals. I'm struggling with this grass—it has thick webs of roots and long grass that make it nearly impossible to pull out! Has anyone dealt with this? Any effective, eco-friendly methods to eliminate Bermuda grass?

I’m in the same situation! Last year, I tried laying down a thick layer of mulch, but the Bermuda grass just thrived under it. This year, I’m planning to use a combination of glyphosate and landscape fabric or plastic tarps to help control it. I’ll focus on areas around my raised beds too—the grass tends to creep in from the sides. Just keep pulling up any that makes it into the beds!
