Hey everyone! I'm excited to start my first vegetable garden, but I'm a bit worried about keeping everything alive since I'm not the best at remembering to water plants. I'm looking for some easy vegetables that I can grow without having to put in a ton of effort. Any suggestions?

Tomatoes are a great choice for beginners! Just plant them in a big pot or directly in the ground, and don't forget to support them with a tomato cage. They're quite forgiving and do well with minimal care as long as you remember to water them occasionally.
If you want something super low maintenance, try growing potatoes that sprout from the ones you left on your countertop! I put mine in a cardboard box, and they flourished! Other easy options are strawberries, spinach, and basil. These are hard to kill and can thrive without much fuss. Plus, choose veggies you really want to eat to make you more likely to check on them regularly. Happy gardening!
Bush beans are another excellent beginner option. They need very little care and you can even let them dry on the plant for easy harvesting later. Radishes are super quick to grow as well; they're a fun and simple choice. Plus, if you're feeling adventurous, zucchini is always a hit!
Zucchini grows like crazy! Just make sure you have space for it.
Leafy greens and herbs are perfect for beginners! My first garden consisted of spinach, lettuce, and herbs like basil and cilantro. They grow quickly and don't require much effort. Garlic and green onions are also really easy to grow; just plant the roots in the soil and watch them thrive!

Totally agree! Fresh herbs and veggies you love make it so much easier to keep up with garden tasks.
