A few months ago, I had to replace a sewer pipe outside my house, which meant cutting out a small section of my concrete patio. The area I cut is about 6.5 feet by 1.5 feet. I assumed I could just fill it in and it would be fine, but I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to concrete work. My plan is to dig down a few inches, add some gravel, and then pour in some Quikrete. I've watched a bunch of YouTube videos, but none really address my specific situation. What do you all think I should do?

6.5 feet isn't that small of a section. I recommend drilling into the remaining concrete and adding some rebar to effectively tie the new and old concrete together. Then you can pour your new mix over that. It should help with the stability and hold everything in place!
You definitely want to use a concrete bonding agent between the old and new concrete to ensure a solid connection. It's also important to use the same type of gravel as the existing fill—crushed stone usually works well. Make sure to compact it well before you pour in the new concrete. Don't forget to consider how you want the surface finish to match the old slab, as that's gonna impact the technique you choose. Just a heads up: you probably won’t match the color or texture exactly!
Thanks for the advice! Looks like I have more planning to do.

Thanks! That sounds like something I can manage.
