What’s the Best Smart Lock for a Wooden Gate?

Hey everyone! I recently installed a Schlage smart lock, but I've heard that these kinds of locks aren't really designed for gates. It's working fine right now, but I'm worried it might stop functioning at some point. I'm looking for alternatives that would be better suited. Can anyone suggest reliable gate or fence locks? Ideally, I want something with a keypad and the option to use a key in case of battery or power issues. It would also be great if I could control it from my phone to lock and unlock the gate. I've done a little research, but I'm not too tech-savvy and it's been a bit challenging. Any recommendations would be super appreciated!

Schlage locks can be hit or miss for gates, so it's good you're looking for alternatives. I recommend getting a lock that has both keypad and key options; they usually come with decent smart features too. Just ensure it's rated for external use. You might want to check out Yale locks; they're known for their durability and quality. I've never had issues with theirs, plus they've got options that work well on wooden gates. Just make sure to get one designed specifically for outdoor use!

But doesn’t Yale have models that aren’t suited for gates? I thought they were more for doors.
