I'm stuck trying to remove a deadlock from my door. The previous tenants had a key break off in the lock, and now I need to take the lock off. The screws are really stripped, so I'm looking for tips on how to remove them without causing too much damage. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Honestly, just drill it out. Those screws aren't the strongest, so it should come out pretty easily without too much trouble!
If you have a Dremel tool handy, you can use a cutting blade to make a slot in the screw head. This way, you should be able to get it out with a flat-head screwdriver. It works like a charm!
If you don't have a Dremel, try using a slotted screwdriver in the remnants of the screw. Give it a few firm taps with a hammer. This can help seat the screwdriver better, letting you turn the screw. Make sure to press down firmly while twisting. If you get it moving, you might also be able to grip it with locking pliers!
Another idea is to pry off the facecap on the opposite side of the deadbolt, then drill down into the screw holes from the back. Using a slightly dull bit can help run the screws out easier, too!
Drilling is a solid option! Start with a small bit to create a pilot hole, then move up to a larger one to take out the screw entirely. You might need some vice grips to remove what's left, but that should do the trick!
