How Can I Trim My Countertop for New Blinds?

Asked By CraftyCat99 On

I'm planning to install new blinds that fit flush against my window, but the countertop extends into the window area, which is causing some frustration. What's the best way to trim the countertop without risking damage to it? Thanks in advance!

Just a heads up, make sure to check for any moisture on the window sill or around the window before you start. That could affect the blinds installation!

If I were you, I'd just trim the very bottom of the blinds instead. It could save you a lot of hassle and will probably give a nice clean look!

It looks like there's a glued seam right at the trim edge. You might want to use an angle grinder with a diamond wheel to carefully cut it. That should separate it nicely without messing up the rest of your countertop.

After you make that cut, consider slicing the removed piece in half and reattaching the rounded tip section. That way, it looks more seamless!
