I'm making a spatula as a gift for my friend who loves cooking, and I've carved his last name into it. Should I finish and seal the spatula like I normally would, or do I need to use a different type of sealer on the carved lettering since the letters are quite deep?

It really depends on what you consider 'normal' for sealing. If your usual method works well for wood projects, you might be fine with it. Just be cautious when applying it to the carved areas.

Totally agree! Just remember to apply it gently on the carved parts so it doesn’t pool up too much.
