Can I Swap Toilet Seats in a Rental?

Asked By SunnyBunny42 On

I'm renting and want to install a toilet seat that has a built-in child seat. Is it possible to attach one to the current toilet and then switch it back when I move out? I noticed that toilet seat installation instructions mention a part that often breaks off during installation, and I'm worried this might prevent me from easily replacing the original seat later.

Most toilet seats in the US are just bolted down with plastic bolts, so it should be pretty simple to change them out. Just double-check the bolts first, but you should be good to go!

Toilet seats are typically secured with plastic bolts that you can easily replace if they break. So it won't be a problem if you want to switch it back later.

Yes, you can definitely swap toilet seats! The part you mentioned that breaks off is just there to prevent over-tightening, so don't worry about that. You should be able to remove the seat whenever you need to without any issues.
