How Can I Keep Sunflowers Fresh for a Few Days?

I recently bought a beautiful bunch of fresh sunflowers for a friend, but she won't be back home for about three days. I'm looking for tips on how to keep them fresh until she returns. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! ?

Three days isn’t too long, so you should be fine! If your sunflowers came with powdered flower food, that’s a good start. I recommend removing any leaves that might sit in the water, giving them fresh, cold water (ice cubes work wonders), and cutting the stems at an angle to help them absorb more water. You can also cut them a bit longer now and trim them again right before you give them to her for an extra boost of freshness. If you didn't get a packet, you can usually find flower food at any grocery store that sells flowers.

Great tips here! If you have space in your fridge, putting them in there with some water can also help keep them fresher for a little longer. Just make sure they fit and won’t get squished!
