Hey folks! I'm in the middle of renovating a room and recently tried to take off some decorative wooden trim (still figuring out if it's called relief or molding). Unfortunately, I ended up damaging the wall beneath it, as you can see in the photos. I'm wondering what's the best way to fix this mess. Can I just paint over it, or do I need to use something like wall patch or repair paper? I'd appreciate any tips or advice you might have! To fix the damage, start by lightly sanding the area. You should then paint it with Kiz Premium to help prevent any new mud from lifting around the edges of the tears. After that, let it dry completely and apply drywall mud, sanding it down smooth in between applications. You might need to repeat sanding and mudding a few times to get it just right before painting over it. From what I see in the photos, you likely won't need to use paper tape for this repair.
