I'm dealing with a persistent issue of water pooling near my home's foundation, especially just under the deck, and I think it's causing water problems in my basement. My driveway has a negative slope that seems to contribute to this. I'm considering a couple of options: either building a small mound of asphalt to guide the water towards the grass or creating a channel cut across the driveway to redirect it. What would you suggest?

You might have enough foundation exposed to just mound some dirt against it or even build an elevated planter box to redirect the water flow. This way, you can keep the water from reaching your foundation as easily. Plus, it's a pretty nice landscaping option!
But wouldn't that just allow water to flow around it and end up under the deck steps again? A channel drain could be better across the driveway to really catch that runoff.
