I'm trying to put up a single stud TV mount, but I'm having a tough time locating the studs in the wall. The wall has lath with plaster, and there's drywall added over it. Does anyone have tips for finding the studs in this type of setup?

You might want to poke a small hole in the wall behind the TV and use a stiff wire to feel around for the stud. It's a bit of a trial and error, but it often works! Just be careful about where you poke the hole.
Alternatively, you could use a stud finder. They can be pretty accurate and save you some hassle!
