I previously mentioned that I got a quote for a water heater installation for $2,000, but I just received a second quote from another electrician/plumber that is offering to do the job for $1,500. This includes the installation of a 50-gallon electric Bradford White water heater as well as removing my old unit. The earlier quote was from a plumbing company using a Rheem 50-gallon electric model. What do you all think about these prices and the brands?

Have you considered a heat pump water heater? They typically cost more upfront but can save you quite a bit on your electricity bills in the long run. Just a thought!

Honestly, the Bradford White is known for being a superior water heater compared to the Rheem. The fact that you're getting it installed for $1,500 with haul-off included is a pretty solid deal. Water heater installs aren’t usually too complicated, so I'd say go for the lower price with the better brand!
That's not entirely accurate; Rheem does have some models that are only sold through plumbing supply stores. But for sure, the big box store Rheems are everywhere.
