I'm building a small system called **SmartGarden**, which will use sensors to monitor soil moisture and automatically water container plants—perfect for small spaces like balconies and patios. I've had mixed experiences with solar power. Living up north, I find it often doesn't work reliably. I'd prefer a more dependable power source unless it was wicking beds, which I currently use and love.

I tackled the same issue for about twenty bucks from Temu, and it works well enough. Sometimes there's no need to reinvent the wheel, but I think these projects can be fun if you're into building stuff.
