Should I Talk to My Neighbors About Their Gutters Draining Toward My Foundation?

I'm concerned about my neighbors' new gutters. They seem to be directing water straight toward my foundation, which could be problematic. All of our downspouts, including mine and those of other nearby homes, run away from our foundations. Should I bring this up with my neighbors, or is it not a big deal?

It's definitely a point worth addressing! If you leave it as is, you might end up facing serious foundation issues later. It's better to bring it up sooner rather than wait until it becomes a real problem.

Yeah, this doesn't seem right at all. Most places have rules against diverting water onto someone else's property. I’d suggest talking to them about it calmly. If they aren't responsive, you might need to check local codes or report it if necessary.

You definitely need to discuss this with your neighbors. Having their downspouts aimed at your foundation is not ideal, and it could lead to major problems down the line. It's best for them to direct that water away, ideally towards the street.
