Hey folks! I'm growing tomatoes for the first time, and I'm really anxious about taking care of my plant. It's going to be a bit chilly tonight, dropping to around 47°F, and I just repotted my tomato plant into a grow bag today. I'm wondering if it would be safe to keep it in the garage for the night. I can't let it stay inside because my cats might munch on the leaves. The garage is warmer than outside but not as cozy as my house. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Totally fine to put it in the garage! It’s a good protective move, especially since you’re worried about your cats. Just make sure it’s not too cold in there. Your plant will be just fine for the night!
While it’s best to have temperatures consistently above 50°F for tomatoes, putting it in the garage for the night won’t hurt anything. Also, I've never really heard of cats eating tomato leaves. Is that something that happens?
I’m not sure if it’s common, but my cats are especially rude about destroying things, haha!
Your plant should be perfectly fine outside at 47°F. The only time you really need to stress about the cold is if frost is in the air. I’ve had mine outside in colder temps often, and they’re thriving!
