Seeking Creative Design Ideas for My Power Supply Project

I'm currently working on a power supply design I've humorously dubbed "project Frankenstein." Here are the specs I'm aiming for: 1. D.C. output with two range settings: 0-60 volts at 35 Amps for low and 0-120 volts at 17 Amps for high. 2. Variable A.C. output ranging from 0-120 volts and 10+ Amps. 3. A function generator that outputs square, triangle, sine, and possibly sawtooth waveforms. 4. A high voltage D.C. output of around 3000 volts (current isn't critical).

I have a few questions regarding my design: 1. What are some ways to create variable A.C. output without using a variac, and can the same method apply to the high voltage output? 2. How can I design an inverter that makes the output vary proportionally to its input, since I plan to use an LM317HV regulator that maxes out at 60 volts? 3. What's the best way to set up a biasing circuit so the D.C. output can get as close to 0 volts as possible? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah, that’s true! It’s definitely a big undertaking. Just for reference, I’m also using TIP2955 transistors in my setup to handle current. Maybe look into a more rigorous chip for better efficiency?
