I've been diving into woodworking recently using the sculpture lab at my school, but I'll be moving to an apartment soon where space is limited. What do other woodworkers do in situations like this? I've looked into co-working spaces for woodworking, but they seem quite pricey. Any advice?

Consider minimalist woodworking. A simple workbench can double as a seat in your apartment, and with just a few hand tools, you can achieve a lot. Dovetail joints are particularly cool and perfect for small spaces!
I know someone who managed to rent a half garage for projects—great way to get more space without committing to a full workshop. Also, don't forget about handwork like pens or small toys that can easily be done inside your apartment!
That’s a good shout! I think hand tools and smaller projects really shine for apartment living.
If you're working with limited space, hand tools are your best friend! Check out the Milkman’s Workbench by Chris Schwartz for a compact setup. Building a sturdy wooden tool chest can help store your tools and even serve as a low bench or sawhorse. Focus on small projects like boxes or scale models that don't require much room—there's plenty you can do without taking up a lot of space. I live in NYC and recently built a small free-flight model out of balsa. Space isn’t the biggest barrier if you plan smart!
Thanks for the tip! Might have to check that out and get one of those tool chests.
That sounds awesome! I'd love to see that model. What's the best advice for keeping things organized in a tiny apartment?

That half garage idea sounds intriguing. I might explore that option!
