I'm redoing my bathroom, and I've got a separate room where the shower and toilet are right next to each other. I'm trying to figure out where the best place is to install a ceiling exhaust fan. Should I put it above the shower, above the toilet, or maybe near the door? I'd love to hear your thoughts on what you would do!

If you only plan to install one fan, it’s best to put it closer to the shower. This will help in getting rid of the humid air efficiently. If you’re planning on a long-term solution, are you a homeowner or just renting?
From what I’ve learned, centering the fan between the shower and toilet is optimal. It allows the fan to handle steam from the shower as well as smells from the toilet. If you’re only putting in one, definitely lean towards the shower side since excess moisture can cause more issues than odors.
I definitely wouldn’t recommend placing the fan near the door. That could lead to poor ventilation since it wouldn’t properly reach the shower and toilet. Ideally, you want it situated between the two, as far from the door as possible. That way, it can effectively pull out moisture and odors from both areas.
