I really like how lilac bushes look, but unfortunately, I have an allergy to them that makes my face swell when I mow near it. This bush is quite large and is located right between my front door and driveway, so it's hard to avoid when it's flowering. I've noticed that many birds enjoy it too. I really don't want to just destroy it—does anyone think I should dig it up or might someone want to take it off my hands?

If I were in your shoes, I'd probably try to find someone who would love to take that lilac off your hands instead of just digging it up. Maybe put up a sign since it’s visible from the street? Just make sure whoever takes it is careful with the roots. It’s a bummer about the allergy, but lilacs are gorgeous!

I totally get it! That'd be a clever way to find it a new home. Just be cautious about who digs it; you wouldn’t want anyone messing with your own plants!
