Hey everyone! A few months back, I hired a contractor to install five basement windows. It was winter, so I didn't open them until now, and I discovered they're installed upside down! The top part drops down instead of staying up, and the handles are at the bottom instead of the top. I did some quick research and found they should be installed with the handles on top. I reached out to the contractor but haven't heard back yet. What are my options here? Can I pursue legal action in small claims court in Massachusetts for this? Just so you know, the small claims limit in Massachusetts is around $7,000. If the cost of the windows and any repairs is close to that, you could consider filing a claim. But I really hope it doesn’t come to that!
