I'm looking to decide between two packs of regular 4.0 Ah 20V batteries, which are on sale for around $99, and a single 5.0 Ah PowerStack battery that's also priced similarly. I've heard the PowerStacks are newer and lighter, but I'm a bit confused about DeWalt's battery lineup overall. Can anyone provide insights on which is the better deal and why?

The PowerStack is marketed with plenty of advantages, but I'd watch out for longevity issues; I've heard the 5.0 Ah can have a shorter lifespan than expected. It's not uncommon for them to be less reliable over time. If I were you, I might think about returning the PowerStack if you're worried about durability.
The PowerStack is definitely worth considering if you're using tools that demand more power, like saws and grinders. It provides better amperage, making it more efficient for heavy-duty tasks. The 4.0 Ah batteries are solid too, but they just don’t deliver the same level of power. It really depends on what tools you plan to use them with!
