I've been invited to participate in a craft fair at a local elementary/middle school, and they want me to organize a fun activity for the kids to get involved in. The age range is from pre-k to 8th grade, and I could use some inspiration for quick projects that would work well for this age group. I'm open to doing a bit of prep work beforehand. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

How about teaching the kids some basic measuring skills with tools? You could show them how to draw straight lines, scribe cuts using a square, or even find the center of a circle or rectangle. Just keep it safe and simple—avoid anything too dangerous, like chisels.
Here’s a thought—kids love making their own stuff! Maybe you could set up a DIY bookmark station? Just some cardstock and let them go wild with stickers and markers. It’s not only fun but encourages reading too! I did it at a summer camp once and it was a total hit!
You could get the kids to saw out shapes and then sand them down afterward. It's a fun way to improve their hand-eye coordination, and it's low-risk too! Just make sure everything is manual to keep it safe and affordable.

Are you thinking of pre-cut shapes for them to sand, or should I bring some saws for them to cut their own? Sounds like a fun idea!
