Is it Okay to Ask Workers for a Little Extra Help?

I'm considering asking the workers who are replacing a part of our sewer pipe if they can do a little extra work while they're at it, specifically digging up a couple of bushes in my garden. Of course, I would pay them for this additional task. Is it considered odd to make such a request, or is it pretty common? How should I approach it?

It's totally fine to ask them. They might say yes or no, but shouldn't be weird about it. Just make sure to offer compensation for their time and effort!

Just a heads up, while many workers appreciate extra cash, you might need to consider what could go wrong. It's good to ask, but be prepared for any complications that could arise too.

Just go and talk to them directly! You could say something like, "Hey, would you mind pulling up these two bushes with your excavator for an extra $100?" Most likely, they'll be up for it since they're already there. Good luck!

Absolutely! Cash talks, right?

Thanks for the tip! I was planning to suggest a specific amount too.
