Hey everyone, I'm a DIY enthusiast who's all about doing things right without cutting corners or relying on contractors. That being said, I'm also trying to save some cash, and moving heavy items, especially upstairs, is really testing my limits. I'm currently tackling a bathroom renovation and need to get a new vanity up to the second floor. I can manage the plumbing and setup, but I'm stuck on how to lift this hefty unit up the stairs on my own. Any tips, tricks, or tools that could help make this easier would be super appreciated!

I recently managed to get two 48" cabinets up a staircase all by myself! What helped was taking off the top and drawers first. I used the cardboard boxes they came in to slide them up without damaging anything. I did have my wife slide new cardboard underneath as I went, but it was definitely a challenge. Try this method—it could work for you too!
This is exactly why having friends is a blessing! Get some help whenever you can; it makes a big difference!
You should definitely consider renting a dolly or hand truck from Home Depot or U-Haul. Look for one that can handle stairs, and make sure it's equipped with furniture straps. Don't forget to wrap your vanity in moving blankets to protect it and the walls. Also, measure your staircase before you start to ensure there’s enough room around corners. And if possible, get a buddy to help out!

Totally agree! And they also have those battery-powered dollys that can climb stairs. Super handy when moving heavier items!
