I've recently given my lawn some serious TLC: raked it, scarified, overseeded, and then raked it all in again to hide the seeds. Unfortunately, instead of scaring off the birds, it seems like I've attracted a whole flock of pigeons! They used to be just a few, but now it feels like they're throwing a committee meeting on my lawn. They strut around like it's their territory and have stopped flying away when I approach; they just stare at me like I'm the intruder. At this point, my lawn has turned into a pigeon tapas bar. What can I do to keep these feathery freeloaders at bay? Any tips would be much appreciated!

Sounds like a tricky situation! One suggestion is to lay down some weed membrane; it might help deter them depending on the size of your lawn. Just be careful that it doesn’t interfere with the grass growth! Good luck!
I’ve had success with hanging old CDs tied to sticks around my lawn. The wind makes them flap and catch the light, which can scare the birds off. Anything shiny like silver foil could work too! Just make it a bit of a sparkle show and watch those pigeons scatter.
I’m fortunate to have two cats that act like bouncers for my lawn. They keep the pigeons away, so if you like cats, they might be your best bet! Plus, you get a cute pet out of the deal!
