If it's an electric dryer, you might be looking at a couple of common culprits. Either the heating element is broken (which is usually easy to replace and costs under $50) or the high limit switch has failed, which is also a straightforward fix for around $30. Just make sure to check your specific model to get the right parts!
I don't own an Amana, but I had a Kenmore with a similar issue. The heating coil was broken; it was literally snapped in two! You have to remove the drum to check, but it could save you a lot of hassle if it turns out to be the same problem.
It could be something as simple as a blown fuse or tripped breaker. Since your dryer runs on two circuits—one for spinning and one for heating—check to see if there's power going to that heating circuit. It's the cheapest and easiest to troubleshoot first!
