Should I Choose the M12 or M18 Hammer Drill for Brick Work?

I'm currently using the M18 brushless drill for my new job, and I've frequently encountered brick. I'm considering whether to get the M12 or M18 hammer drill. My current drill handles most of my tasks, but I really need that hammer setting for efficient brick drilling. If anyone here has experience with either model, I'd love to hear your thoughts! Thanks!

If you’re drilling into brick often, I highly recommend getting an SDS drill instead. It can bore through material in seconds that would take ages with a standard hammer drill.

Totally agree! I’ve got a smaller SDS in my truck, and it’s a lifesaver. I also have the more powerful MAX model for when I need to tackle the tough jobs.

For drilling through brick, the M18 is definitely the way to go. The M12 can do it too, but it takes much longer and feels like it’s straining under the load.

I was at Home Depot today and found a great deal on the M18 Fuel hammer drill/driver combo for $399. It includes two 5Ah batteries plus a bonus 6.0 battery, but it might not show the free battery online. Still, it's a solid option if you need the extra batteries!

I bought the M18 tools separately and saved $50! Didn’t need the case since I already have better batteries, but the combo is great for those who want everything in one package.
